What a weird corner we're backed into when absolutely everything you included in this piece is factually correct! The hilarity is only tempered by the sobering fact of our complicity.

Everything in our society all comes down to the packaging. The content seems to be secondary to the branding and marketing. Thanks for emblazoning the reality on these profoundly important issues in a way that cuts through all the bullshit.

Julian Assange is a journalist who should be freed - and compensated. The criminals his journalism exposed are the ones who need to be indicted.

The "hilarity" you refer to verges on hysteria. The absurdity of it all has left us confused and disoriented. Our complicity has damned us.

This is one of your very best. Today, you and Caitlin Johnstone both have demonstrated beyond question that Orwell’s “1984” was not a work of fiction but a prediction. The world is truly in danger and the USA is the monster in charge.

1984: actually it's more of an instruction manual than a prediction.

I learned early on how niave I was, simply by enlisting in the US Army. After two years of service in Vietnam, I was convinced there was no intended good going to come from a war we really were not intent on winning, but we certainly tried to distroy any possibility that South East Asia would ever become an economic powerhouse without paying homage to us! In reality, while the war raged on, individuals within our very own country were making huge profits off the death and destruction that killed both our own people and the "enemy". Winning turned into losing by simply prolonging the destruction with no end in sight, take a hill, then abandon it, so the enemy would retake it and we would start the blood bath all over again! Somehow what had been our longest war became yet another blueprint on what would become an even longer war that did nothing but spawn the un-ending war we are in today all over the world. No truth has ever put a stop to it; no lie about what was happening has ever been coughed up and spit out by the people who have been schooled to simply ignore the truth and listen to the propaganda. When even the propaganda gets sloppy, don't question how people were killed, or why we go out of our way to drag people out of other countries and jail them here to silence them, and ocassionally let them go so they will die elsewhere so we can't be blamed. The answer is realitively simple, STOP DOING WHAT DOESN"T WORK AND TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT! Suprise us all, by working with others rather than bombing them out of existance, like we have done over and over again. my time here is nearly up, but I have no belief there will be a future for those who I leave behind. Maybe those outer space folks that show up here on ocassion can figure it out, but we simply can't do it ourselves.

Oh the deliciousness of your daily bake! 'Liz Truss is an idiot who became prime minister when she accidentally walked through the wrong door and couldn’t find her way out of the building.' Remember Lavrov asking her whether Rostov belonged to Ukraine, and she responded that of course it should be returned! Trouble with the deliciousness is that it leaves a bitter after-taste. Good to laugh but what at? follows. Assange could never be compensated, nor the countries (plural) implicated in his torture by their so called leaders. We are all shamed by it.

In this instance the laughter is an aggressive response to a very real threat. There is no joy in it.

Too late. I've had a look at what you were doing. It's a very good idea. I hope you can inspire yourself to post more.

It actually just might; Assange has been a favorite of the far right since he manufactured the Seth Rich conspiracy and boosted Trump.

Wow, free ticket to land the free, is in it amazing?

Demoncracy, apartheid, Genocide free transgender operation, euthanasia, bribery and aplication of martial laws, all legal there where they want to take him.

Also, if he is lucky, free housing with all service included in tropical Cuba’s Guantanamo bay.

From sunrise to sunset, close to the elements, protected by a cage and an army of very well armed and trained professional war dogs, ready to protect him from Iran, Russia and China.

What a great good night story for the kids.

Thx

So sad - how these political leaders manipulate the masses that follow them. All about the control of money!

Yes, it's a foregone conclusion that they will extradite him to the US. And the UK judicial system will once again prove that injustice and dishonesty are paramount in the "rule of law" in English law. I wonder if they will dig up Judge Jeffries to preside? Still, one ray of light was David Miller's victory. But then I'm sure once Keir Starmer becomes PM he will change the law to ensure that all anti-Zionists will be shipped off to Belmarsh or a US Super Max, the great human rights lawyer he is.

We see the intrusion of surrealism into normal discussion. The true offense is evidently not the crimes committed, but the exposure of those crimes.

Note also the moral deterioration of the USA (which began at a rather low starting point, anyway). At least in 1971 the late Daniel Ellsberg could find a "main-stream" newspaper for *The Pentagon Papers* (*The New York Times* -- which has since become a centrist rag). The inferences we can draw from Assange's persecution are chilling. Main-stream media are collectively useless, and any alternative outlets that publish the hidden truth (e.g., about the Vietnam "war," Iraq "war," et al.) today will apparently be subject to "justice," American-style.

One dire prediction: If extradicted, Assange will not have a very long life. The likelihood of his "suicide" (does that sound familiar?) is extremely high.
