I was moved to tears when I read the part about the little girl and the tent she made pretty, no one can take that away from her.
The notification came through as I am painting my banner for the women's march in London on Saturday.
I feel uplifted knowing a small group of our society will be ACTUALLY doing something, actually using our voices to march against oppression.
Because I've made my choice that I will do everything in my power to be a voice for people that aren't allowed to use theirs....wonder who could of inspired that ☺️
Bravo! Satire is our defence against unimaginable evil ( as well as vacuity and pretence). We do not need it against sunlight. Thanks for coming out with hope (and Ezra). Maybe one day all Laura K's fans will meet on a green sward and celebrate the grit that kept us all going.
Laura, you know the balance between the truth and satire and you have found the perfect balance. I have learnt more about the war in your satirical words than all the news channels and I two am tired of the faults propaganda. We all wish the best for our children, no matter what age.
Thank you for your writings and I hope that your baby gets better. I'm in Vietnam at the moment and today visited the war remnants museum. Everyone should visit it. I can't believe that anyone who has visited it could support war and violence against any human being.
Great post Laura and I hope your wishes come true and your baby gets the treatment he needs.
I'll encourage you to be as satirical as you like on the topic of Trump buying Panama, Canada or Greenland, or even Scotland as has been suggested as a possibility by some.
I like your reference to the rights of indigenous peoples and point out, though you probably know already, that Scots are an indigenous people who historically own their own land despite that fact being ignored over msny years by a foreign government in London and the number of incomers from South of the Border making it not unlikely that we will soon be a minority in that land!
Right there with you, but without a seriously ill baby to care for. Self-care right now is imperative, and any Palestinian mom would likely agree with prioritizing family wellness in a crisis.
Also came to say my dumb bank won't let my subscription payment go through and in fact locked my card over it, probably because you're in the UK and I'm in the U.S. But I will find a workaround!
So many of us benefit from your thoughts and your writing. I've recommended Normal Island News to many friends.
🙏I want the same safety and peace for Palestinians and my child too.
I also want you to write satire about trivial stuff again…then we’ll know the world is going to be ok.
Beautifully written.

Your demonstrations in London are an inspiration!
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Thanks for the wonderful writing Laura. I wish you and your baby everything good. Kind regards Anthony.
Her baby is healed 💝
Goodness, what goodness. Thank you.
Thanks for allowing the real Laura K to shine through. There seems to be hope... I hope.
I'm right there with you Laura I've been in this fight for decades now and I'm tired. Oh and to hell with Hollywood and Jamie Lee Curtis!

Keep well, keep sane and keep positive.
Very best wishes to you and your family, Phillip.

Couldn't agree more. Every single word!

And Trump can eff right off!
Thank you.
