Brilliant Laura. I saw the picture of the people helping the judges(?) over the high gates into the parliament so they could vote against the coup president. That's real people power, literally giving a leg up to your representatives. I can never understand why 'soldiers' do as they are told when it comes to things like coups, I mean their own families must be thinking they are d'heads as well.
What a world, it's crazy, is there something in the water (I know not talking about England's dirty water...) or in the air? Did Covid affect the brians I mean brains of the ones in power especially those ones. Who knows, but I wish someone would invent a vaccine for sanity, rationality and a big big vaccine for peace! Instead they have 'smart' everything to make sure none of those things will have any traction ever again. Sigh.

I am always amazed at how ill informed the west is about the "Far East". As China has become a World power, I think we should try and look into the history of the Far East in order to understand the mentality more. Especially look into the history of the region to understand the long standing prejudices. I watch Korean and Chinese movies and one begins to understand more of their thinking. Not all of these dramas are good to our western eyes, but many are well worth watching.
To understand the conflict between North and South Korea, a good drama to watch is "Crash landing on you". An excellent series. Unfortunately these dramas tend to be long, but well worth the watch. I am finding many of these dramas better than the American movies that are being made at the moment.
The US is so good at bringing people together, when they abandon isolationist policies the world is always a better place, but I’m pretty sure it’s Mash.
Brilliant satire as always, but on a sadder note, during Amerikkka’s little transgression there, my first cousin was killed. He was a medic rendering aid to a wounded soldier and was shot himself. This was before I was born; I never even got to meet him.
His name was Johnny, and he posthumously received the Silver Star and is buried at Arlington. Small comfort for his family members.
