Twitter applies "Government-funded Media" label to the BBC
I am so fucking angry they would correctly identify my bias!
The BBC has strongly objected to Twitter applying a “government-funded media” label to its Twitter account; a label which places it in a similar category to the “state-affiliated media” in the likes of Russia and Iran.
As the BBC’s finest and most super-impartial journalist, I must say this is ridiculous (after being told to say this by my Downing Street source).
Anyways, the Tory/BBC Whatsapp group has advised me to clarify the following:
Just because MI5 vetted BBC positions up until the 1980s; just because the BBC always takes the official government line on every foreign policy matter, no matter how blatant the lie; just because all of my news stories came uncritically from a “Downing Street source”; just because I sneered every time I said Jeremy Corbyn’s name; just because we mocked Sunak up as Superman, and Corbyn as a Russian stooge and Lord Voldemort; just because I was found guilty of faking a story about Corbyn’s shoot-to-kill views; just because almost all of the guests on my show are right-wing, just because 90% of the Question Time audience are Tory voters; just because we stitched up the Labour Party with that episode of Panorama; just because the BBC chairman Richard Sharp is a Tory donor; just because Richard Sharp helped arrange an £800,000 loan to help pay Boris Johnson’s child support bill; just because all of the people in senior BBC positions were replaced by government stooges; just because Boris Johnson’s spin doctor Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC’s board; just because Gary Lineker was dropped for telling the truth about the government’s refugee policy; just because David Attenborough’s show was dropped for telling the truth about environmental destruction; just because we take the government’s side on everything because they would otherwise pull our funding, DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE FUNDED BY THE GOVERNMENT!
I will have you know we are nothing like Press TV or Russia Today. We are actually much more biased than that. Thank you for understanding x
Thank you so much for letting me vent! If you enjoyed this article, you can buy me a coffee below or simply share this article with a friend. It helps me more than you realise. Writing is my full-time job, meaning I am so broke and without this blog supplementing my income, I cannot pay the bills! x
I wonder if Musk will label the media that are corporate funded as well. (Silly question.)
In response to Mike Shelby: it’s all a clever ploy. Like trying to win “the Muslim vote” while making them out to be terrorists.
So, all that bias in favour of the right-wing government is why the Tories are doing everything they can to slag off the BBC and find ways to defund it?
