I appreciate the satire and irony.

I didn’t even laugh at this one.

I just got angry.

I’m sick and tired of the killings by usarael and grate britain.

trump’s ice is killing civilians right here in the military headquarters of israel.

Shooting our women in the face.

We need a decapitation strike in washington dc.

I hate this fucking country.

I’ve seen ice take people off the streets three times in the last two days.

I’ve seen Palestinians freezing in tents on my screen; when they aren’t busy being killed that is.

I went to an ice out protest on Tuesday, and no one showed up but me.

Bourgeoise liberals and fascist MAGAs make me vomit.

Sorry for being Debbie downer today.

Somebody’s gotta do it.

Can’t just do nothing.

The bright spot that occurred to me as I pen this, is little Ezra.

He’s a fighter too.

Bless you both.

And, thank you.

Real change: Saying good-bye to Tel Aviv and the White House. And Mar a Lardo, to be on the safe side.

Change that we really could believe in.

Not like that bullshit that Obama peddled.

I like the way you think.

Yes, as St Barrack was busily starting wars that he managed to keep rather quiet, he was more cunning than Donald and did get his peace prize I'm still trying to find the 8 wars that Donald says he's stopped. Maybe they were the catfights on epstein Island

Weird how the riots stopped once they jammed Starlink, don't you think?

I'm practicing, in my own life, to be as resilient, brave, strong and committed as these women are showing us. Thank you for sharing.

Something Fizzled out and now the Iranian Women are getting ready to Receive their Nobel Peace Prize for successfully inviting a bunch of Bunker Busters into Iran !

It's a real pity Iranian women's pubic arrangements do not allow the tormentor general to grab them by their pussies.

It's a very sad state of affairs that the version the west puts up is so twisted beyond repair.

A lot of the content now on the internet is already generated by AI. And that’s where the problem lies, because the storyline can be so convincing to the masses and it could well be used, sometime in the future, to create very dangerous fake situations of, for example, world leaders being made to appear to be standing up and visually declaring war upon each other by streaming such fake videos; where however the real players never ever said or did such things; and where a computer programme was used to create a deep fake virtual imposter of sorts.

And this potentially goes all the way up to the situation of an all-knowing AI god where us, the lesser flesh-and-blood souls, will be asking the AI-god-Oracle existential questions we have no answers to/are not meant to have answers to.

The fight for artificial intelligence really is the fight for the monopoly on the very nature of reality itself and, given the type of individuals and entities that currently control technology, the future technology may in fact not be used in a way to benefit humanity. And, unless there are some safeguards to protect humanity from AI, which exponentially improves itself by ongoing coding and “learning”, the future may prove pretty dystopian.

In one of the scenes from the sci-fi feature film masterpiece, Blade Runner 2049, a conversation plays out between replicant (humanoid) manufacturer Wallace, and replicant assassin, Deckard, who previously fell in love with his target replicant, Rachel; and Wallace, in this scene, has brought Rachel back to life as a new replicant many years later:

Wallace (to Deckard): “Is it the same now, as then? The moment you met her. All these years, drunk on the memory of its perfection. How shiny her lips. How instant your connection. Did it ever occur to you that is why you were summoned in the first place? Designed to do nothing short of fall for her then and there? All to make that single perfect specimen. That is, if you were designed. Love, or mechanical precision? Yes? No?”

Deckard: “I know what’s real”.

By random chance I met and developed a friendship with one of the nephews of the “Shah” during indoctrination training for our employment at a Nuclear Weapons Test Facility in the Nevada desert.

I didn’t really know much about Iran in general, the Pahlavi era, US complicity, or the transition to the Khomeini regime. The term “revolution” I feel to be too simplistic a characterization for the collapse of one ghoulish power structure to be replaced by another. Both could have been easily avoided had the West employed even moderately effective statecraft rather than fostering resource imperialism and a jingoistic “anti-communist” (really just anti-leftist and anti-Iranian worker) approach to the Middle East writ large.

I learned of various aspects of he and his wife’s family history. Some terrible, some mildly inspiring, most all were incredibly convoluted and inconsistent in ideology and political goals.

As examples, I’ll offer the Wikis of two of his relatives who followed very different paths to their ultimate assassinations. Worth reading for anyone who wishes to understand the complexities that have hung like a lead collar around the necks of the Iranian people for many decades.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapour_Bakhtiar

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teymur_Bakhtiar

In contrast to those complexities, I’ll offer the bare bones sycophancy of our press in covering the Iran situation exactly as our regime would prescribe it be covered… without historical context and propping up Musk as though he were some sort of freedom fighter. As a reminder, the same Musk provided Starlink to Russia to use against the Ukrainians. Funny how the same press glossed over that bit of news:

https://www.nbcnews.com/world/iran/iran-protests-crackdown-tehran-body-bags-machine-gun-islamic-republic-rcna253946

Compare the granular descriptions of carnage visited upon the Iranians to the IDF scripted scant unquestioning coverage of the Gaza slaughter from our “allies” in Israel. The press had no problem going all chin strokey and “who can really know… it’s complicated!” on that one.

Western folk (and Iranian expats) expressing concern over the toppling of the IR regime demonstrate the sad phenomenon that the West has degraded its own credibility and motivations to such a degree that it competes with the horrific IR regime on a race to the bottom for which will most adversely effect the average Iranian.

Make no mistake, Trump fantasizes about being able to inflict identical carnage upon Americans that the IR does upon Iranians. The fact that the international press so readily enables and reinforces the propaganda coming out of an insane WH should “concern”(massive understatement) us all.

Thanks again for your efforts. Good piece. Hard to read, but necessary.

Someone please bomb my country! I need to be liberated! I’m forbidden from walking into a grocery store topless. We oppressed ones aren’t allowed to smoke in hospitals or elevators. I can’t bring a machine gun into a courtroom. I can even be arrested for selling my children into sex slavery (unless I’m important)! Apparently there are “laws” and we choose the lawmakers (although they are then purchased by corporations, thanks to a lack of essential laws). The only way we can change this horrifying system is for someone from outside to bomb us to smithereens and take our resources! Save us here in the USA!

What can I say ?

Amen !

I consider myself leftist. I want USA (under a more trustworthy president) to invade Russia and topple Putin. But I do not trust my government under any president to invade and topple Iran's IRC.

Rebel Nun's avatar

If any country has the right to do that, then any country has the right to do that to us, under any president.

DavidPageYea's avatar

That’s a very broad statement. And I think you’re equating the USA under any president with Russia under Putin.

There is a gigantic difference between USA under a president under someone like Biden, and Putin’s Russia.

Rebel Nun's avatar

No country gets to decide another’s regime. That can only happen by force, which is what we’re seeing. Rule by the most weaponry and the least principled.

DavidPageYea's avatar

OK, so by your definition USA should have remained anti-war during WW2 and permitted nazi Germany to retain control of Europe and eventually conquer all of Russia. Am I correct?

Rebel Nun's avatar

That’s been an excuse for imperialism for far too long. I suggest reading the excellent short book “Leaving WWII Behind”.

By your logic, Hitler had the right to take over all of Europe, or the world, because he decided it was the best thing to do and his decision trumped theirs.

Many Russians would prefer a different leader, but practically none want a takeover by NATO and rape of their resources by Western corporations, which is the regime change that’s in the works, and which you are (unwittingly, I hope) stumping for. What you’re cheering on is contrary to democracy, sovereignty, self-determination, and international law. It’s a war crime.

DavidPageYea's avatar

As for my wish to invade Russia, Russia is clearly not only invading a nation which did everything it could to appease it beforehand; Russia is going beyond normal wartime behavior and has persistently targeted civilians for the entirety of the war. So this is not a normal situation; it is even more disturbing that the behavior of nazi Germany throughout WW-2. I offer no apology for wanting to see USA invade Russia, and even if the results of invasion of Russia prove to be to Russia's great detriment, Russia has brought such upon itself through its actions.

DavidPageYea's avatar

"That’s been an excuse for imperialism for far too long"

"which is the regime change that’s in the works"

-There is absolutely no invasion of Russia "in the works". I am a very rare individual who calls for it; no political leader does from any European nation nor from the United States.

It is the very uniform reluctance of western nations to go to war which has encouraged and enabled Russia's aggression. While you sit there and smugly accuse me of supporting imperialism, it is you who are in fact supporting Russia's imperialism by reinforcing the status quo of inaction.
