As a Nigerian, I'm so ashamed of that empty head Kemi and the dumb and racist utterances she keeps making

She seems to have no original thought of her own except what she thinks pleases her base (if she has one)

The political situations in most countries of the world battle me, they clearly are not on the side of the masses so why do the masses keep tolerating them?

Excellent piece of writing, so entertaining to see the truth dressed up as satire. Comedy is reality, all the rest is just a joke!

I’m gratified that you laggards in the UK are catching up with us here in the US, where we have already thrown all asylum seekers into the sea, where the judiciary has been declared irrelevant, and where demanding “peace” is antisemitic but claiming that genocide is a fine old Jewish tradition is not. You can see how well this is working for us. 🌪️🔥💥😵‍💫

It is such a relief to hear that y'all have the same double standards - oops! I meant to say "sensible immigration standards" as we have in tbe US when it comes to European migrants versus... Hold on, are there other kinds?

Dame Sue Carr is right. Politicians cannot make up the law on the hoof to suit themselves as may be expedient for the situation in question, including their personal popularity/credibility. There is a process for changing laws that they must observe.

In other words, democracy.

"Don’t let facts get in the way of our bigotry."

Heck, we don't let little things such as "the law" get in the way of removing (deporting) immigrants who are legally in the US, so why should we let mere facts get in the way of which groups we wish to discriminate against and toss in the ocean? Am I right? *satire*

Let’s face it peeps, we’re slipping on a slippery slope.

Those in power want to write or rewrite -- or simply interpret -- the law to match their own ideological objectives. We saw that in Israel with Netanyahu. We have heard quite clearly in the USA, as Vance, Musk, and Trump clearly feel the "law" has no power over the Executive (unless the courts are called upon to save his sorry ass): https://www.aol.com/vance-musk-authority-courts-trumps-195900026.html.

But on to more serious issues: << Next we’ll be finding out Sue is married to a Muslim, or even worse, she’s converted to lesbianism. What else could explain this outburst? >> What if the Baroness wants to changes her gender?!

My old Dad had an excellent phrase for people like Starmer and Badenoch - 'Toe Rags". Cheers Dad, miss you x

Nothing to do, “I blame diversity, equity and inclusion for this farce. Next we’ll be finding out Sue is married to a Muslim, or even worse, she’s converted to lesbianism” the old white men’s club of Islamophobia is DEI-ed in the wool, across the planet.

Convicted war criminal Tony Blair removed the independence of the judiciary in 2003. That ship sailed long ago. The entire judiciary is now just a branch of the corporation known as the UK.

Don’t think they ever managed convict him - he’s still free to foment his neoliberal regime change tendencies AND get paid for it! The ironically named Institute for Global Change.

Tragic, tragic situation, but your brilliant biting commentary made me laugh. On this story, your commentary has brought me the most clarity.
