I wanted to celebrate and be flippant about this, but then I watched a 60-minutes video of Virginia Giuffre, her eyes moist, her voice gravely with profound emotion, telling of her mortification. And it sobered me up to the reality that I'd like to pan fry Andy's coglioni then make him feed on them, no condiments.

Feral Finster's avatar

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Andrews arrested for passing official secrets to Epstein and not his other extracurricular activities?

Vin LoPresti's avatar

You're correct, of course, but it cuts no mustard with me. I'd fry him for his fucking royal arrogance had I the opportunity. Any excuse to tear down self-proclaimed "exceptionals" who are anything but is sufficient excuse for me.

Feral Finster's avatar

I certainly would not so much as twitch a whisker to save the man.

But let's be frank, he's just being offered up as the sacrifice to appease the crowd.

Vin LoPresti's avatar

No argument. And a lot of that crowd will indeed be appeased; are celebrating a Pyrrhic victory.

Feral, bet you wouldn’t spray on him if he was on fire 😼

Douglas Macari's avatar

I’m sure you’re right about that. Nevertheless, I don’t think the whole thing is just going to melt away just because a few notable heads have rolled. Pressure must be kept up.

Douglas Macari's avatar

Correct. I’m assuming that such a charge has been brought in the basis of likelihood of a successful prosecution: it being far less complicated and risky where matters of business, espionage are concerned as such crimes inevitably leave a more easily verifiable ‘paper trail’. I guess further charges could, and would, follow on the other matter once he’s been safely netted by the law for these crimes.

The scene from Krendler's kitchen from the movie "Hannibal" comes to mind.

Monarchy centuries overdue for the bin of history. A very expensive and ludicrous anachronism.

nancy knox-bierman's avatar

A bunch of inbred Jeds who just morphed into the political "elite". All our alleged leaders are a bunch of pasty, pale, satanic pedophiles who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.

M F's avatar

Unfortunately they have more potency still at their disposal than you or I would like.

Please be careful about the pale-ish stereotypes, however; some white people actually have feelings and principles, you think?

And some of us would fight.

nancy knox-bierman's avatar

I may be a talking dog, but my mistress is definitely a white lady, and unless you are in the "ruling class", I was not referring to you. Their physicality combined with their base appetites, average at best intellect, and amazing hubris is what I was ranting over.

M F's avatar

Ha. I am a talking cat, with claws. Definitely not "ruling class"--but I'll take working class, angry class, with earned merits, gladly. And aw, c'mon: intellect, just like integrity, arises everywhere, as does hubris.

Feral Finster's avatar

Another cat? There are several of us on Substack.

M F's avatar

Another scratching post sic!

nancy knox-bierman's avatar

agreed on hubris, agree to disagree on intellect, my friend, but we are on the same page.

M F's avatar

Well, intelligence and wisdom are unbounded by race, place, embrace.

Quoting same book, at least.

Douglas Macari's avatar

Indeed. This is just one more, rather large nail in the royalty coffin. We must keep hammering away.

Michael Rawlins's avatar

Apparently, Andrew was super excited about being handcuffed and led away by police officers. He thought it was some kind of birthday stripogram present, where he got to indulge in pedo masochistic sex, whilst comforting his teddy bears, who are emotionally distraught, about being placed in storage.

So reassuring that insanity still prevails in our royal family.

Rebel Nun's avatar

Praying hard that this notion of no one being above the law will float across the Atlantic.

Hilary Minor's avatar

That makes two of us!

Amos's avatar

No, Andrew is being burnt to protect the people who really are above the law.

Heir and a spare right? His entire role in life is to be chaff to be burnt to protect those ahead of him in line.

RAYMOND Yeow's avatar

Andrew is the fall guy, no more arrests afterwards

nancy knox-bierman's avatar

right? He was just the most obvious, but don't tell me sausage-fingered Charles never pdf'ed around with Jimmy Saville.

Amos's avatar

Plenty of conspiracy theories about Starmer and saville too. For myself, I haven’t seen the alleged photo, and have no idea whether it really is what it’s purported to be.

nancy knox-bierman's avatar

right? No one has explained why 3 pretty boys tried to set fire to his car.

Apologies for banging on at you. Can’t help it sometimes. But since we’re on the topic of completely unevidenced conspiracy theories that definitely aren’t real. I always thought Johnson’s response when pushed about partygate sounded like a declaration of blackmail material (Boris said “class-a drugs; Jimmy Savile” and sat back down.)

Now a lawyer could lose their right to practice if busted for possession of class As, so if that happened during an adventurous youth and was swept under the carpet while the offender rose to a senior position in the CPS, that would be moderate blackmail material. But hey, that is the minimal interpretation and we’re seeing from the news that the minimal interpretations are too minimal. So what if a (voluntary or involuntary) sex worker overdosed on class As they had been given by a person? That would be very powerful indeed.

As for the Savile thing, he’s bang to rights for having been head of the cps when the decision not to prosecute was taken. Doesn’t need any more than that for me. But there could be all manner of collusions around that decision.

I must apologize for my ignorance regarding many political events and common things such as "north rail". I am a Texan, and we tend to be a bit myopic, and our media totally ignores any country we are not currently interesting in invading and plundering. I only get international info from The Duran and others on Substack, or I would be as oblivious as my government wants me to be. Thank you for this exchange and I am a mean, old white lady who defends criminals charged with major crimes; ie: murder, sex assault, assault/deadly weapon, so I didn't even notice you were giving me crap :).

Amos's avatar

Ah I wasn’t giving you crap, I was just talking your ear off which is a bad habit of mine. I had assumed from your writing you were a young(ish) British person so there were a lot of British references in there that a Texan has no need to apologise for not getting. (Northern rail is a railway franchise that was recently semi-nationalised but is still notoriously shit, it provides unreliable trains in the Liverpool and Manchester region). You don’t seem particularly mean to me but I haven’t crossed you in a legal context!

Amos's avatar

Maybe it was because they were pissed off that northern rail is still shit

Chris Hale's avatar

Forgive me for being cynical, but a “release under investigation” will nicely shut down discussion and could be spun out for years.

Thanks for pointing out that he is above the law for paedophilia but no-one is above the law when it comes to damaging trade and capitalism

Growing up in the colonies the women used to refer to him as Randy Andy, sniggering behind their hands... I guess now we'll just call him the Fall Guy.

JBA's avatar

I mean, by all means, rape a girl and beat her, but for God’s sake man don’t share state secrets!

Lise Hertel's avatar

No one says it, but what about Andrew's own daughters? Did he abuse them? It might have been assumed that their mum kept them safe once divorced, but as we now know she was deep into the horror as well, taking her own daughters round to Epstein's house just after he had been released from prison and even begging him to marry her! Those poor kids and how about other children in the Royal household? No one to turn to, no social workers in their world, highly vulnerable.

Abuse is sadly often generational, very difficult to break the cycle. Andrew was the Queen's favourite son, surely she knew what he was up to? Why didn't she try to stop it? And instead covered it up. Was she also a victim from a previous generation? But these questions can never be asked because ROYALS right?

No wonder Harry and Meghan legged it, probably what any one of us would have done realising the risk our children were under in such a corrupt and evil household.

Perhaps Queenie was also a predator

Persephone's avatar

The "Queen" knew and didn't care because he was only raping working class girls, and to quote Ghislaine, "they're nothing. Nothing." That's how you're ruling class sees you (and me), as nothing. Upper class men have been treating working class women and girls like that for hundreds of years, and upper class women have been trained to look the other way and pretend not to notice any little unpleasantness because, like I said, working class people aren't really people in their eyes.
