Dystopian. Although one shouldn't be surprised, it's still shocking and appalling that the NYT has stooped to this level. The lack of integrity is almost (almost) incomprehensible.

Stooped? This IS the NYT's level and there's nothing (almost) incomprehensible about the NYT, it's the voice of its master, US capitalism.

You're right. Stooping implies having been better in the past. I stand corrected.

I couldn't laugh despite the great writing and humor. My disgust knows no bounds.

I wonder how many Palestinians really had to die, just because of mainstream media shaping public opinion and dehumanising Palestinians.

Well... here's some partial data since 2008. Casualties have to be verified by 2 independent and reliable sources, so some casualties are inevitably going to be missed. They don't use this standard for Israeli casualties, because Israeli casualties are reported in the media. And of course everyone knows that the media figures are true.

https://www.ochaopt.org/data/casualties

This dataset also doesn't thoroughly include what's currently happening in Gaza. They explain their method.

Now, if we go back to the 1920s, when Zionist terrorism against the Palestinians really began in earnest, we'll add many more people into the casualty roster. Those murders then, and since, were also facilitated by mainstream media shaping public opinion and dehumanizing Palestinians--repeating Zionist claims where the existing bias in the media didn't already tend that way. That effort of narrating the Zionist claim to Palestinian land, livelihoods, and way of life had been going on since the late 19th century:

You're welcome! Here are a few more it occurs to me to add.

1. The Nakba.

These two videos discuss the Nakba. Casualty and "transfer" (ethnic cleansing) figures are given, here and there. Just as important are the discussions of the background, attitudes, and Zionist planning which led up to the Nakba, and the discussions of the actual extent in time of those warring actions. The Nakba is often described as something that began after the British left, or even, when it's framed as "the 1948 war", after the British left and the Arab world objected to the Zionists' declaration of ownership. Not so! The terrorism against the Palestinians had been ongoing for decades prior, while the specific attacks of the Nakba began in 1947, as soon as the British had declared and set a timeline for their eventual intent to withdraw. The British were not allowed to intervene as the Zionists began attacking Palestinians, even though the British were still present and overseeing Palestine.

2. Some political background during the period when the Zionists were agitating in European government for ownership of Palestine.

https://www.globalresearch.ca/israel-final-solution-palestinians-did-not-start-2023-1930s/5842853

3. Some discussion of Zionist terrorism pre-1948 declaration of statehood. This was conducted against the British and the Palestinians. This document, a military master's thesis, may not be comprehensive as to damage, as its aim was to discuss military strategy, not necessarily the effect on each Palestinian.

*To tie this to what I mentioned above, Jabotinsky was integral to the early formation and training of terror gangs as a Zionist tactic. He began working towards Zionist military aggression as the approach since the 1st WW at least, and more about his activities can be found in various bits and snippets out on the web.

Racism in the 21st century. WONDERFUL. How would things be if the shoe was on the other foot . OH, that's right. NAZI Germany. Kristalnacht. Yellow stars to identify them for being " different ". I guess that entitles them to blow away Arabs, Palestinians, etc. we should just send them to a terrorist country where they'll be right at HOME.

It is not anti-Semitic to criticize the politics of any country. Also, both sides are Semites. So where is this racism you're talking about? The way Israel treats the people of Gaza & the West Bank, that racism? I hate Israel for what they're doing.

I don't think this is a case of racism. It's more a WEF funded genetic cleansing.
