"First time offenders will be offered the chance of re-education via an audio version of Alex Karp’s The Technological Republic, but it’s expected that many will simply opt for death." LOL

I wonder...can a machine commit murder? If convicted, what is the punishment?

Luigi Cappel's avatar

Do you think it hasn't already happened?

Your acerbic and truthful comments about Palantir are greatly appreciated.

Jack London's novel, 'The Iron Heel', written in 1910 or thereabouts. described our Palantir-inspired future, pretty accurately and without the computer. So now it's digital Fascism plus brute force, aka ICE, when surveillance doesn't suffice. Fascism is the last resort of a bankrupt capitalism. 'Arise ye starvelings from your slumbers, arise'!

Feral Finster's avatar

I would say that the fascism we are facing is not born out of desperation at all.

Rather, the rulers are strong enough and alternatives on the ground thin enough, that they no longer need to pretend. The pimp, who has that poor runaway girl trapped in a hotel room, no money, far from home, far from anyone she knows and he doesn't need to pretend to be a nice guy trying to help out any more.

Crap. They're strong enough, and alternatives on the ground thin enough. Ugh. Facts

Sorry. When you live by your wits, you must by necessity be a stone-cold realist.

We know we’ve lost all control when they feel they can be that honest.

debra fau's avatar

Yeah well….duh. it's all over history people just choose the pretty explanation instead of the honest one.

Mr Karp and his company suck.

Oh by the way karp/carp are bottom feeders.

"The Palantir CEO explained: “Silicon Valley owes America a moral debt."

I think he meant to admit AmeriKKKa owes Turtle Island reparations for half a millennium of New Eng£and's unrelenting genocidal pillage.

A simple slip of the keyboard...could happen to any Hollywood-indoctrinated WA$P supremacy$t.

IBM founder Thomas Watson argued that the covert operations should be run exclusively through private agencies such as the major Anglo-American multinational corporations, banks, and law firms. It allows to evade FOI exposure (Freedom of Information by taxpayers, i.e. how the Gov spends the money..)

I hear in the streets people are commenting about a wonderful monument just inaugurated in the bottom of Satan's Flam-A-Lago Palast in Hell, just in avantgard-new-dada style, of Alex Karp & Peter Thiel, the marchited broom in Patagonia vest and the ferocius light-bulb in dolce-gabanna suit, doing a sado-masoquist session with the Peace's Dove and the Liberty enchained on the top of a hill builded of baby maimed-dead-bodies. They said the author was an AI version of Schwarzenegger emboding King Charles the III ...

If an average human can not feel uncomfortable (and vomit) only watching and listening to every public intervention of the non-human-but-ziotechnonazi Alex Karpet ... it means you are ready for the exhibition in Hell ! Yup!

..."In an unusual move for a corporation that we all thought was focused on philanthropy"...I have never thought that about palantir. I have always viewed it as a monster that will be fed by a gazillion data centers gathering every bit of info on every human on the planet.

Than this tyrannic machine will sort out who lives and who will be murdered. Since the machine will be making the decisions, that dissolves all humans from any responsibility for murdering billions of humans. Quite crafty, if not totally demonic.

Excellent post. As a now retired IT guy I can foresee security patches and bug fix patches being released every week, much as Meta and Apple do. Of course the bugs may result in the robotic warriors terminating people with extreme prejudice but no matter since they can fix that.

We all know they're racist but apparently have quite a bit of power, what with all the government contracts and data that they have. Why not just come out and name these regressive cultures? Surely they're not worried about political correctness.

There was a half marathon in Japan yesterday. It was won by a robot in a time quicker than the world record, so they will be impossible to run from. God knows what they will arm them with. Skynet is closing in.
