This satire is dangerously close to being fact.

I mean, it is factual, but has to be labeled as satirical to ensure the writer is not sued or suicided.

The U.S. military industrial complex is hitting new heights! Now that Trump's sons are manufacturing drones it's going to be even better. For Trump and Trump's pals.

The 1% are making a literal killing!

War is America's largest export. Billionaires & US politicians make huge profits. No one wants tax dollars to go to healthcare, infrastructure, or citizens. Silly! There is no money in that! That's why we should thank Israel for keeping us at war.

The CIA is busy negotiating in Cuba ATM and we know what that means! The New York Times will be explaining how Cuba has been manufacturing an A-bomb. Once the place looks like GAZA the US will take it over.

Win win!

When is the question.

When will the "checks and balances" we are supposed to have in Amerikkka kick in?

Maier Amsden's avatar

I used to say we're ruled by elitist oligarchs. I've since narrowed that to the unauditable unaccountable MIC. They're firmly in control of both parties.

Lenny Cavallaro's avatar

Too late. A spineless Congress (controlled by the Right) and ideological-based Extreme Court (controlled by the Right) let the Dictator do whatever he wants. "But the law of the land...?" Irrelevant. Welcome to Trump's Amerikkka.

My sister's daughter had a job at Oregon University for 22 years. Loved it! She facilitated 3 tenured professors, and looked after each student as they came in, making sure they had housing etc.making sure they had jobs when they left.

One Friday not long after Trump got in this time, she left work Friday and all was well.

Monday morning she came in and her 3 profs were gone. They had been matched out at night as they refused to sign the anti DEI pledge (DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion.) All "normal" human beings hate that, right?

No cake. No thank you for years of service. My sister's kid was gone not long after.nthey could see no reason to keep her on (as she had no penis).

The Trump administration only supports straight WHITE MEN.

Competent women, disabled, veterans, gay, POC, minorities, & anyone "non standard" sexually? Or with a religion other than Christian? "Those DEI people" should work as min-wage slaves, be deported, trafficked, incarcerated, or die.

Its a brave new world out there. Dog eat dog. Empathy? That's pussy stuff. Who needs it? Amerikkka has reverted back to the "good old days" where straight white men and money are the only things that matter.

I am constantly importuned to support this or that candidate for Congress as if that body had not long since stopped even pretending to represent the people of the U.S. Turns out that the best democracy money can buy is not a democracy, who would have guessed? Elections here still exist in order to suck up time and energy from people alarmed at where we're heading and confused about how to intervene.

Maier Amsden's avatar

Yep! Lost another primary to Israel, and saying those words makes me want to fill my pockets with rocks and walk into the ocean. On the bright side, Summer Lee trounced Israel in her Democrat primary. Again, how is it that Israel is allowed to punish dissenters via our elections?! That shit can't end fast enough!

Rebel Nun's avatar

Please don’t fill your pockets with rocks and walk into the ocean. We need you. These horrors come and go in waves. We’ll keep going, as depressing as this is. 🍪 Have a cookie. ❤️

I think it is a blessing in disguise for him and MTG to be ousted from the right wing of the Epstein coalition, they can do more damage running as independents to support a real anti establishment 3rd party candidate in 2028

ikester8's avatar

I vote third party/independent every chance I get, and even I have to admit it's a protest, not a strategy.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

It can be a protest voting third party, or it can be a way of throwing a monkey wrench into the works and screwing big-time with the duopolists' head. Either way, it's a step in the correct direction of dismantling the corrupt system.

TS's avatar

But will they? Do you remember when Ross Perot ran as a third party candidate against Bush Sr? He dropped out over the summer, saying his family had been threatened with death. Came back in, but lost a lot of momentum.

Sol Sön's avatar

Well, that is what you get when you are a foreigner agent in the U.S. of A, complete control over the suckers.

Fortunately while the people are paying high fuel prices, oil companies in the U.S. are exporting more than ever before, enriching the already rich, and making sure that both, millions can die, and that the rich will still be making money after everyone else is dead.

After all, who needs people when you can have robots doing the slave job without complaining, and when the suckers are so stupid to call algorithms and apps “artificial intelligence”.

Until they realize that robots don't buy their widgets.

Only one month ago, well after Massie had come out against Trump, he was leading by five to nine percent in polls. They slid the other way smoothly and too quickly, without cause. I know that the Israel-first lobby poured on the hasbara when they saw that, but I’m still suspicious. We know that our election machines are susceptible to manipulation and I’m certain the polling groups are, as well.

TS's avatar

Yes. I want exit polls back. Surely that is something that can be created from the grass roots. They are the most accurate polls.

Lenny Cavallaro's avatar

You are correct. The polls taken before the actual elections have built-in biases. Moreover, not everyone who responds to a poll will vote, and a few may even change their minds. However, AFTER they have voted...

Exit polls showed that Kerry had (apparently) won in Ohio, and those Electoral College votes would have given him the presidency even though he lost the popular vote by 3.5 million. However, when they got to the Diebold voting machines (which spent the night in GOP territory), Dubbya had won Ohio (surprise, surprise!), and the rest -- including John Roberts and Alito, both of whom were nominated and sworn in during Dubbya Bush's second term! -- was (and still is) history.

TS's avatar

Of course, the 2000 election was a Republican coup as well, thanks to Bush v. Gore and the Supreme Court, who had not Constitutional business stepping in.

And Gore never made a peep.

Lenny Cavallaro's avatar

I never liked Gore or Kerry. At the time (2004) I noted how some people believed that his first loyalties were not to the Party or the nation, but to Skull-and-Bones: i.e., that he was an underground mole. Alas, they never produced the "smoking gun" on that point, but Kerry refused to demand a recount or to contest the Ohio result. Very strange...

TS's avatar

My hypothesis is that the Pentagon briefed both parties at the end of the nineties about Peak Oil. Remember Peak Oil? The idea being that for the US to remain the hyperpower for another generation, we'd need to control the most oil, because war runs on oil. And the leadership of both parties got on board. So, Bush and the neocons were handed the election, even though they did not win, and then we got 9/11, and all the wars for oil both parties and their donors could possibly want. And it still goes on.

TS's avatar

Yes, as I recall, the Secretary of State for Ohio, who was also heading Bush's Ohio campaign, had all the votes delivered to servers in the basement of his office. Kerry was winning. And then The Secy of State announced, ta ta -- Bush won! And I believe him!!!

There were a lot of weird things in that election, the second one with the new voting machines. And ever since...

How do we get out from under this?

Lenny Cavallaro's avatar

I wish I knew, but I have no clue whatsoever.

TS's avatar

Well, I live in California. If the -- sorry. When the US Empire falls, the states will break up (as happens with all empires). At that point, California will step off, and become the fourth largest -- no, probably at that point the third largest economy in the world, because the US won't be first anymore. So, we'll be okay. It will be pretty dire for the south at that point. But maybe China will buy them.

Lenny Cavallaro's avatar

Stalin may or may not have said something along the lines of "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." The US had stolen elections in 2000 and 2004, and who knows on what other occasions!

TS's avatar

That is a very useful compilation (The Timeline). Thank you. The chart about the number of people who voted for democrats down-ballot, but voted for Trump, only in swing states, is a smoking gun.

As a Kentuckian (but not a resident of Massie's district) it is with profoundly conflicting feelings I learn of his primary loss to AIPAC. It has been unreal to find myself sending an anti-choice, assault-rifle for each family member Christmas card photo, hater of social programs Republican House member "Thank You" cards for voting against giving money or weapons to Israel and for Epstein file disclosure. He had the correct choice for these things but for certainly the wrong or disingenuous reasons. In Kentucky there is no exemption from the abortion ban for any reason, including rape, even the rape of a minor. Gun violence is endemic. He'd have it no other way. However if my only options are the strapped-up lunatic misogynist voting against two bad things and the lunatic misogynist supported by AIPAC and Trump who will vote for EVERY bad thing, the choice is clear.

Apparently the district that elected Massie in the past is still in thrall to Trump.

The Roman Empire fell when Israeli-approved candidates were appointed to the Roman Senate, but this doesn't mean the same thing will happen to the USA.

TS's avatar

No, senators came from the upper class families after serving 10 years in the military, and winning a high-level election. Lower classes need not apply. Palestine was occupied by the Romans.

Rebel Nun's avatar

I’m not sure, but I think John is referring to the increasing presence of Christians in the Roman Senate…?

how are the Primaries decided? Is it democratically elected by all adults in the State of Kentucky?

Rebel Nun's avatar

Only by members of the candidate’s party, so in Massie’s case, it was only Republicans deciding between two Republican candidates. In the final election in November, Democratic voters could make a difference in the outcome, but this particular district is notoriously always voting Republican, so there’s not much hope. But a little. There’s also the possibility that Massie will run as an Independent or a write-in, splitting the Republican vote and maybe even giving the Democratic candidate the lead.

Adeel Mirza's avatar

Many thanks Rebel,

i think i understand and sounds similar to the UK system. However, i don't fully understand so can you please help me...

Do you have to be a card carrying member of the Republican party and reside in the Kentucky state to vote for the Republican primary candidates?

Rebel Nun's avatar

Kentucky is one of the states that have “closed primaries”, meaning that only those who are registered voters with a participating party may vote. The trend now is toward open primaries:

https://kentuckylantern.com/2026/02/17/kentucky-is-one-of-only-8-states-with-closed-primary-elections-should-that-change/

Adeel Mirza's avatar

Many thanks. I think i understand now: only registered "Republicans" in the State can vote in the Republican primary. So this is why it was so easy to defeat such a big name as Thomas Massie. It is just shocking how normal people that are members of the Republican party are so beholden to the Devil Israel...

J. Matson Heininger's avatar

This Massie election is the most dangerous thing I've seen in my lifetime, couple that with the coming crash, the Gaza genocide, the fire sector dominance of our economy, the incredible disparities in wealth not seen since the French revolution, We are headed for a nightmare and it's coming this October, at least the crash part of it. What happens after that I don't really like to think about. It's not going to be good. I suggest people read their histories of World War I, Weimar and what happened after that.

It would be marvelous if Massie ran as an independent, siphoning off ReThuglican votes and enabling the Democrat to win. Just saying...
