I met Rupert Murdoch at a John Jay scholars' supper at Columbia University in 1982. He was full of bonhomie and wind. I asked him about his newspapers. He was very candid. Scandal and page six ladies sell papers. It would be fair to characterise him as mercenary af

“Let's just ignore the fact Piers is a c*nt.”

So, I’m not the only one who thinks that. I’m glad.

It’d be harder to find someone who *doesn’t* think that!

Headline made me laugh out loud. Through his media (Fox News) he spread more poison and tricked more people into voting against their self interest than maybe anyone in history.

Brilliant! Permit me to make two quick comments:

<< It was quite shocking when Fox hosts were caught admitting they knew they were lying - I’d always assumed they were just stupid. >>

I am even more naive than you. I assumed that a news outlet that admits to lying would (or at least SHOULD) lose its license altogether. However, I did some research and discovered that Congress passed the Wrong-Doers' Protection Act a few centuries ago in anticipation of such cases. [Those Founding Slave-Holders and Misogynists were truly brilliant men!]

<< Prime minister Rishi Sunak said he is “livid” that he has to "start all over again with another Murdoch" and hopes Lachlan is “just as corrupt as his father”. >>

I fear the Council of Nicaea (325) was correct when they articulated the doctrine of "homoousios," which affirmed that God the Son and God the Father are of the same substance. Sunak's hopes will be realized (alas).

Was that the olde 'One Bright morning in the middle of the night,

Two dumb boys got up to fight.

Back to back they faced each other,

drew their swords and shot each other.

A deaf policeman heard the noise and came arrested those two dumb boys,' by any chance?

It rings a bell from my childhood. Fav. poem ever.

Oh no not Ed Sheehan under the bus too! 😂😂

Let's be real, Ed Sheeran is the real criminal mastermind here. Beside him, Murdoch pales into insignificance...a fact which is rumoured to be the actual reason for his throwing the towel in at such a tender age.
