Well said. I feel the same frustration. I have been part of the anti-war movement since the '60s, fought against conscription in the U.S., refused to be part of an immoral war in Vietnam. For a brief shinning moment in the '70s I thought we were making progress. That was an illusion but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
Lesson learned: We can never relax. We have to apply pressure on our governments relentlessly. As long as there are billions to be made in the war industries, despicable, immoral people will be doing everything in their power to promote wars. These people should be treated like the scum that they are. Quit allowing them to call themselves the "defence industry". They are the Murder Industry and should be called nothing less.
Never forget: Silence is complicity. We must keep calling out the bullshit no matter the cost.

I thought in the 60s that the government would be willing to come to the table and negotiate with us. I didn't realize until much later that they looked at us the same way that George III looked at the colonists: as infinitely below them. So we made the same mistake as the American Revolutionaries. We expected that they cared what we thought.
I needed this sincerity today. The past satire has given me some emotional relief and protection helping me to keep bearing witness however traumatising and infuriating. Today there's no balm that can protect the rawness of my fear, disgust, grief and outrage.
