We have had PLENTY of problems with police violence in the USA, also. Perhaps at some point I shall discuss my first-hand experience with "officers sworn to uphold the law," the professional liars who came to their defense, and the corrupt judge who upheld their egregious misconduct.

My former police officer BIL was fired for lying under oath. I think he was able to keep his pension and other benefits.

Thank you for sharing this. I am always encouraged when I learn that they do NOT get away with their crimes.

You're destined to be a leader in your country - leading people out of the clutches of evil upholders of the law. Well done and long live. Your writing gives hope to the oppressed! I'll have that coffee with you someday!

Great stuff Ms K, so much so that I was moved to purchase a subscription, no doubt you'll be banned soon for publishing disinformation about our wonder forces of lawlessness and disorder but frankly, they've always been like this, all that's changed is the state has passed laws to make it legal.

If you want to get into 'hip-hop', the BBC did a 4 part documentary earlier this year. I learned that a lot of hip hop was a way for black people to protest against the militarisation of the US police forces. It's worth a watch.

Then the lyrics were banned. Fight the Power!

Thank Heavens we don't have Police Forces where possession of a vape is reason to strip-search an underage girl, or where cell CCTV footage goes missing.

Oh... wait...

I assure you that I "liked" the comment you contributed to the conversation, though NOT the fact that police can and actually DO commit such atrocities.

Gosh, it really is enough to make you sing along with 'Fuck the Police' isn't it? It's the uniforms that do it. Did you know they are woven from magic cloth harvested from the thin blue line around our precious globe and infused with fairy dust sprinkled by, well, God themselves (I believe this is the correct pronoun, or is it themself seeing as how grammar be damned in this new truth-adjusting age?). We should expect nothing less of these men and women who don these magic cloths of righteousness and superiority.

Sounds like you lot are taking lessons from the yanks, or is it the other way around. Maybe the yanks are learning from the Met. Have they always been like that or are they just breaking out because of all the internal government turmoil? Maybe the Tories are pushing them to become their personal militia, like a certain US governor who now has his own private police force. Time to fly like the wild gray geese for safer roosts.

I have found it weirdly puzzling how the police, regardless of where, seem to have become so frightened of the people they are supposed to protect.

I've made this recommendation to my local police force on how to reduce confrontation between the police and the public: Funds for settlements from cases involving police brutality/malfeasance/stupidity comes out police compensation/raises.

So far, they haven't jumped on the idea...

I tried to read this but it said it was a private page. This might have been intentional but I personally find this website very difficult to use and I canโ€™t get into the app at all, so it might be a mistake. Cheers

Yes it works. Iโ€™ll read it in a minute. I canโ€™t take all the credit, the website actually told me to mention this to you. I think it knew that it isnโ€™t set up very well so it knew that often happens!!

It's amazing how relatable your posts are down here in Melbourne, Australia; it must be my ancestor's 2nd fleet convict gene's. And our equally corrupt systems of course, no surprise given your Charles is sadly our Charles too.
