A certain American politician once dropped 721 bombs every single day for year and was given a Nobel Peace Prize for his spreading of his peace-by-drone. It’s quite possible Liz could have taken a good run at the record but it’s unclear where they would have landed in pursuit of infamy.

I Thought that I wanted to know your pols better and could get an even better laugh at your barbs. But, on second thought this is probably the most I want to know. I have friends in the UK and only wish them well in the light of these interesting political events. It’s almost as bad as it was here when traitor in chief tRUMP was “elected” here in the U S of A!

This awards thing is confusing to someone across the pond. So am I to understand that these folk who make to the House of Lords and Ladies, then have jobs ? it appears they get nap times too. i assume this a bit of a sly way of increasing the Chosen's bank accounts? over here it is more straight forward - lobbyists just send big checks to the legislator's campaign fund. it's sort of a bribe I'm told.

Love this: "Given Boris Johnson honoured the 29-year-old who gave him a blo... I mean was his very useful assistant, and he also tried to honour his father, it’s safe to say the bar is set low on who does and does not deserve to be honoured. Even Gavin Williamson became a knight for fuck’s sake and his greatest achievement was selling a fire place."

It was evidently more than one fireplace the tarantula-loving Gavin sold, to be awarded a "Fireplace Seller Of The Year Award" (or something like that).

Ah, have you considered that Liz (cheeese) and Nadine (Nads) might just have some baggage between them seeing as how they both absolutely worshipped Boris. Not that they don't have amazing talents aside worshipping a self entitled oaf of course, though it's difficult to pin point anything off the cuff.

I have to admit. In any sane modern and equal world the PM of England's subjects, wouldn't have to hide his philandering, but, sadly, it's 2023 and some standards still apply, it's so backward. At least the guy at the helm now, with his trousers at half mast, is an honest family man, who will honour those who cover for him, when his time comes to hand out peerages to his donors, and very supportive, somewhat struggling family. :-/

Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the...!! Woa it's a bit choppy in these Uk waters, positively stormy in fact! Arghhh abandon ship!

Why on earth would "we women" feel any solidarity with an arrogant and delusional "free market" thinktank product like Truss?

Many of us too, not just men, have inflation-devalued pensions and savings, and rocketing mortgage repayments! And women still do most of any family's food shopping: hit by hugely inflated prices

Truss nailed her colours to the mast as contributor to a damning right wing publication "Britannia Unchained": often known as "Britannia Unhinged". She and Kwarteng -- as a co-contributor also brainwashed by the fantasies of the Institute of Economic Affairs -- are a classic folie a deux.

Too many politicians under-estimate the growing boiling negative temper among normal folks & people.

ONE day there will be ONE misconduct / misdemeanour / malfeasance / ignorance / instinctlesness / indecency, that will make the boiler explode.

UTTER UNWISE tax policy is the underlying reason, costing just progress & (pursuit of) happiness for the big crowd; facilitated by too much influence of the rich & mighty players, who indulge in performing SuperEgoism as their major trait.

And the more lifelong full-pro career politicians, the more blatant / insane OPPORTUNISM; as they are building ever bigger buddy-bubbles who will strive with increasing avid eager to bring each other into POWER/ Office/ budget/ sinecure/ pension ASAP.

+ for full-pros, playing only 2nd fiddle is just ZERO OPTION anyway.

=> POWER comes 1st, policy only 2nd.

Usually the politSpectrum's right half is building the more ruthless & larger buddybubble.

It's clear that neither the crowd, nor their habitat can afford such asymmetric, unwise policy anymore.

1 DAY democratic systems will be able to addressing even such systemic malfunctions just in time, by adjusting regulation.

Regrettably it is not this time, yet.

The establishment is too reluctant to change (unsurprisingly)

=> there will soon be a big OUCH in countries like the USA, UK, FRA, GER etc.

[all potent nations who didn't manage to keep their folks prospering; how tragic; how sad; how perfidious & shortsighted humankind still is / too many folks still are...

Seems we lack of education; the shortcomings of invest in culture, from sports to arts, from pre/schools to universities, from childhood education to student loans -- all this sums up in a ludicrous mosaic of most ignorant egoism; pure evil (in fact) & utter dumbness (in fact). Thx & Sorry]

Truth is stranger than fiction, you only have to look for what is outside known science.

It is called metaphysics, some of which is in Theosophy.+-

You in UK and us here in the US face the tide of neo fascism creep into our real politik. I just hope the progressive liberal side of politics doesn't fade into the sunset to total darkness. Our voices need to be heard loud and clear. The right seems to be all fired up via big dark money propaganderizing on cable and intetnet half truths slun to the 9th degree. Unfortunately there's to many folks on our side just being zombies. We need somehow fire things up on our end .

Cheers. Wishing you well
